If you can start directly for a long Tsuki without Tsugiashi, that is the best and fastest way but this is not the case for short people, as they often can not shoot long Tsuki without Tsugiashi....That's why we use quick "Tsugiashi"(継ぎ足) that makes longer Tsuki.
